Maids / Hired help in Philippines

Everyone always say how lucky you are to live here and have hired staff. For example I have a maid and a driver. Sounds really nice doesnt it?

Well, the real truth is. Yea, they get the job done. but, it takes them 10x longer and is about 10x more complex. and you need to watch every move they make. Because, they will rob/steal and cheat you to death.

Example would be. You send the maid for canned tunna. She comes back 30mins to one hour later with nothing in her hands and says 'Sir no tuna' in very broken english. Now, you tell her did you check the store next door? she will reply 'No, sir' So, you'll send her back down! and she will come back with tuna with a smile on her face of stupidity. Yea, it sounds like nothing and it sounds funny. But imagine doing this everyday :) It's really nuts. THEN! the worst part. You get soo damn lazy from letting these people do your tasks. Even though you are aggravated and pissed and want to kill someone you either are TOO lazy to do it or you dont remember how :)
